This is a poem I wrote to myself one day when I was in deep dark depression. It made me feel happy that day. I go back and re-read it from time to time when I feel bad for myself. I think it applies to everyone of us. We need to remember how truly great we are!
I am Come, wend your way on foot breathe deeply of my fragrance. Hear the tiny blue birds singing of my beauty. Come, cross my icy streams rest upon an old fir stump. In a pale shaft of sun I am magnificent. Come, let us walk slowly down a crooked dusty path I have things to show you I know you'll understand. Look up in awe as life circles a behemoth sky. My snowy peaks glisten cold in a brilliant light. Come, let us journey on to a single copse of trees. A verdant canopy hides wonders yet unseen. I am beyond your senses I'm a cougar in the night. I'm peering through the pupil of a hawks watchful eye. |
