Smile Good Monday Morning All

Hey it is the start of a new day, a new week. I hope everyone had a good weekend.

Where I am at the sun is shining but the schools are closed down in a couple of different counties. Dangerous freezing temperatures. I don't remember when the last time that happened. Usually it is because of freezing rain or a lot of snow. I haven't been out yet but we do plan to. My fiance got some money back from a student loan so we are going shopping for stuff for the house.

I remember when there was a time when we would be waiting anxiously for that money to come in. So anxious I would be sick to my stomach because I knew that later we would be calling the drug dealer and hitting the liquor store. Even now if I think about smoking crack or even see someone in a movie doing it I get sick to my stomach. Not as bad as it used to be but it reminds me that I am still an addict. Now I can quickly push the thoughts aside and move on to a different thought. Seven years worth of training to reach this point and every day I am still a work in progress. Now it is nice to know that when we get money that I won't have the guilt that comes with spending it on killing myself.

OK enough down memory lane. I hope for a clean and sober and happy day for all.

B-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R

It's cold here in the Big Apple. We've been spoiled by all the mild weather in the earlier part of this winter. It's been many years since I've had a drink or drug but this weather always reminds me of my addictions. Those cold days when I had to be sure there was enough booze in the house so that I wouldn't have to go out into the night. I am still grateful each day that I am no longer a slave to booze and pills. I still have other "demons" that I have to deal with on a daily basis, sometimes not too siccessfully. We must all remember that our goal is: PROGRESS, NOT PERFECTION

May everybo0dy have a great tomorrow.

Good Evening Folks, finally getting a chance to poop in and say HI. Who is paying attention???? HEHEHE, sometimes it's the stupidest things that amuse me

Since we are taking a trip down memory lane, I was thinking the other night as i was driving home. Well, there's a big change. I wouldn't or couldn't drive at night. That's not to say I'd wake up and feel like I was sober, but I'd drive because it was light out.

I forgot how much I liked to drive. I wouldn't take the chance after I'd drink though, well, only basic places around town 3 or 4 times, but even then, I was Miss Paranoid. I used to drive all over the place, then started drinking and boom....if I could pass it off I would. I'd not be able to see at night becuase my eyes wouldn't adjust right.....duh.....they still don't fully, or as much as I'd like, but time has started to heal them.

Well, everyone stay warm......trying to keep the heater going here......I might have to go down and play heater repair woman if it keeps it up and bleed the fuel line

Stay warm and cozy. if all else fails, drink a nice hot cup of tea, coffee, hot chocolate or lemonade.....that usually does the trick for me

Well I gotta tell you Kaiti that they think that I am a giggling idiot here after I read your first line. You are quite right. I found that quite amusing and much needed. It is so cold here that the schools are closed again for Tuesday, this should be interesting. Two days in a row. Whooo hoooo!!!

Talking hi all

Just checking in ... Yep - the schools here were closed today and several already say they'll start 2 hours late tomorrow. These below zero temps and the strong winds make it really dangerous for the "kiddies" to be standing out waiting for the bus (not to mention anyone who walks to school)

The weatherman said this is the longest and coldest weather spell we've had in these parts in 10 or 11 years!! But they say we just might make it into double digits above zero in 2 or 3 days! yippee!!!
