Default need money help

hello, hoping someone out there knows if there is any fininical help for MRI's. Had brain surgery in Feb 2005. had insurance at that time since they dropped it saying i am high risk. but still i have to go to the doctor and still the test. When i had the surgery i was only out of work one month. no disabilities. no medication to take. I am very lucky and very blessed. But the money situation is the problem.

I don't know if this organization might be able to help, yet... you might be interested in checking out Modest needs: http://www.modestneeds.org .

Too, possibly Easter Seals or MDA might have some suggestions or resources it could direct you to.

Before you get your MRI, call or visit their patient billing center to talk about getting a reduction in cost or having several months to pay it out.

Be ready to take a copy of last year's Tax Return, paycheck stubs and information of liquid assets, short of IRAs and other retirement accounts.

IF you are willing to ask, and there is need, then you may get a discount and/or payment terms. Hospital-based radiology departments are more likely to be able to be flexible as opposed to private owned. Also, if you have access to a medical school hospital, they might be able to help some.

You won't get it free, but any discount would be nice ... not having to pay it on the spot would be great for most of us.

Good luck in the hunting.
