Finally I am here, alone to long.

Hi, I am a brain injury and near death survivor. My family was in denial so my healing was in my own hands. with the help of the Alternative healing community, which let me pay a little at a time, I have come a long, long way. I have control over my body again and am doing more then was predicted.
But I have been alone with no support group and no way to afford the therapies now out there. Recent happenings in my life have set me back a bit, but finding this site is a wonderful thing.
I look forward to getting to know you all and getting back on track with my health.

I am sorry to hear that you feel alone and I am sure you will find comfort here within this community. If you scroll down further you will find a forum for Traumatic Brain Injury.
I do not suffer any neurological disorder, I am here because of my husband. Like you I am the one that has carried his burden, his family does not think there is anything wrong with him, he had brain surgery November 05, and they think that was the end and he is all well now. Being a male he himself has been denying his injury leaving me to fight his battles.
I have been asked if I am in counseling, I just answer by saying that I belong to this family and I have an international support team. I come here to vent, I come here to celebrate, I come here to check on other members whom I have grown close to and never met, and I come here to find others who understand what he is going through so I can learn how to help him.
People on this come from all walks of life, but you they will make you feel welcome and always here for you whether it be advice or just a cyber hug.
You will not be alone any longer. Welcome!!

First, I want to welcome you to the forum.
I am so very sorry for your health problems but it sounds like you really are a true survivor.
You will find that the people that are on this forum will try and help you all they can. We are a great bunch of people here and we are all here for different reasons but support each other no matter what the problem is.
I am sorry that your family doesn't seem to acknowledge your struggles in life. It is so important for family support but if they want to bow out, then we have to tell ourselves we can still do it and that's just what you are doing and by the way, you are doing a great job of it.
Please come on anytime you need help or just to vent.
Know that I care.

Also, Shown, I hope things are going better for you. It can be very hard when a spouse is in denial of their health issues. I wish you all the best.

Welcome to our forum . Your inspirational post cheered me up and I'll bet many others as well. Although my problems are in different areas there are always people who can come up with answers. Please keep us informed as to how you are doing. Alternative therapies are of interest to many, particulaly successful uses of them.

Well here I am today, feeling blue. My year is off to a slow start and i am hoping to change my location and find a home for me and my youngest. A place to be creative and sing when we want and just be ourselves.

I have been looking at maine a lot and have found a home I am in love with on 100 acres. I am going to call it "Acres of Angels". Well that is if I can find the money to buy it. LOL

That is the problem with dreams, the paper you need to cloth it. LOl

Well I am trying to keep my idioscrycies ( I think I spelled that wrong) at bay. I have a strange kind of claustrophobia and I am staying with my older daughter and my small bedroom is 8x10 and has no window. I am sleeping in a twin bed with my getting-longer-every-day 6 year old daughter who has seizure disorder, not to mention an insatiable ability to stay awake all night and be a worm in the process. So I get about 4 hours or less sleep anight.

All this stress really brings out a brain injury survivors issues in full light of day.

I was watching the show MONK and started relating to some of his phobias, that is scary. LOL

Well thank you all for the welcome and a place to safely vent. My son keeps me laughing, my little one keeps me singing, this whole mess keeps me praying, and coming here may keep me sane. Well one can hope anyway.

I love Maine. I lived in Connecticut for 5 years when I was a young kid and would always take summer trips to Maine. I hope you're able to find the money to pay for the house.

I'm trying to find money to pay for school, but it's easier said than done when no one will hire you.

I've got a fairly mild case of Myoclonus (muscle jerks). I've found many troubles and fears associated with not being able to control my body sometimes. I've only been here for an hour or so, but I've found it to be a great community to vent everything from fear to anger.

Wow, one hundred acres. That would be sooo cool. I do hope that you will be able to buy it somehow. It sounds amazing.
Yes, coming on here and venting can help the soul very much.
