Smile Hi Everyone

I've finally been able to sign up and make posts. It was a little hairy there for a couple of days as for some reason or another, I was not receiving my confirmation/registration emails at the email address I gave. Strange as it was, I finally figured out another way

Now to the reason I'm here. My youngest daughter (24) is in the process of being dx'd with a brain cyst. Naturally, this is very unnerving, especially since I lost my mom 25 years ago to brain cancer. I know that the 2 are different entities, but it's unnerving just the same.

I'm reading a lot here and learning a lot. I want to thank all of you for posting so that myself and others can learn and grow from your experiences.

I hope that I can make a difference here too. I'm a very supportive personality and who doesn't need support now and again in their lives eh? I look forward to meeting and chatting with everyone.

I wish all of you well on your journeys to better health!

((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))). How scary for you and your daughter.

There are forums for a few different types of cysts here, so as soon as you find out what type it is, you can find hands-on support here re specifics you need to know.

I'm sure you know, too, that technology for treating cysts and tumors has changed tremendously since your mom was sick, so there is a great deal of help and hope for your daughter. You have every reason to believe she can live a good life in spite of it. Make sure to get a neurosurgeon you trust, and never be afraid to ask anything.

Good luck, and please let me know what you find out.

Default Thanks!

Hi Lizard!

Thanks for responding to my post. I surely do realize things are way different than they were 25 years ago...thank goodnes

I'm very anxious to find out the results and get moving on getting her better. She goes for another MRI on Thursday, so hopefully we'll get results next week.

I have noticed that there is not a whole lot of information regarding brain cysts on the net. There is some, and of course a lot of it is medical lingo so I'm not really understanding much of it. I do look things up when I have a chance and try to learn. Here at the forums, I've been reading a lot and learning a lot...so that's all good

Take care, and again thanks!

When you have some specific info, I'll help you sort it out. Good luck Thursday. I'll be thinking of you both.

Hi! Sorry to hear the news about your daughter. It must be scary after losing your mom to brain cancer. My daughter is a brain tumor survivor - seven years out from chemo!

I just wanted to tell you that I understand that the American Brain Tumor Association has a new BT primer that includes some very good information on cysts in addition to tumors, so you might want to check that out.

keep us posted on how she is doing (and how you are doing, too!)
