Hi Teddie. It seems like you and I are the only ones posting.
Oh Well, we are sober and sharing and that's what counts. Last week was fairly quiet as was today. Tomorrow I hope to bring my car in for service. Have to have the mechanic check out the transmission; it's making strange noises. I hope it's nothing $eriou$. Thanksgiving is practically here. Now starts the madness followed by the cold and snow. No matter how grumpy I may get during the holidays it's still better than being drunk. I remember my first sober Thanksgiving. I was at my cousin's house and all the relatives from my mother's family were there. I was feeling very sorry for myself. Poor me, I couldn't have a drink and "enjoy" myself. Then suddenly my one of my cousins went face-down into the mashed potatos. That woke me up and made me feel very grateful. Tough break for him but I got the message. Always be grateful for life on a daily basis.Have a great tomorrow. Citoig |

It's Monday now, but I'm here!!
We've been having some warmer weather and finally the sun is shining!! It was beginning to feel like we'd never see sunshine again! UGH! I never drank alcohol at any of our 'family' gatherings (holidays and/or birthdays, etc.), so I don't have any similar stories to share. I knew my mom didn't approve of drinking so I always waited until after I left the family event to drink. I'm not sure any of my family members ever knew how much I actually drank, or the trouble that came from it. My friends knew - but not my family. Talking about cars - I'll need to take my car in for an oil change sometime next month. The nice thing is that now I live only about 10 blocks from the service garage I go to instead of 10 miles like before I moved. I went to a Don Williams concert Saturday night - his last performance on his Farewell Tour since he is retiring now. The poor guy was sick with cold and cough and he really had a tough time singing, but it was still a nice show. I think he might have performed longer if he wasn't sick, but I'm still glad I was able to go because I'd never seen him in person before. I'm so glad that I have almost all of my Christmas shopping done because the stores are already getting to be crazy around here. I also have a couple donations of toys to make to Toys for Tots and some hats and mittens/gloves for the Salvation Army's collection.
