Question Question About Side Affects of Lyrica

Okay well I stared the Lyrica last night. The doctor is slowly bringing my dose up so for the first week I just take one 75mg pill before bed. Week 2 I take two 75mg pills per day and week 3 I take three 75mg pills per day.
So here's what happened to me. I took the pill about an hour before bed last night and then I STILL woke up after sleeping for about 2 hours. I'm used to that so no big deal, but then after going back to bed I was dreaming and woke up my DH asking him to please unlock the back door!! Needless to say he was stunned that I was talking to him in my sleep. I never do that.
Does anyone know if this is a side effect of this mediation? I'm just concerned about it. Please let me know any experiences that you guys have gone through. My fear is that I might actually do something really stupid.

I tried Lyrica too....I took it for about a month and then quit because the side effects weren't worth it. I only took the lowest dose. Anyway--I gained weight remarkably fast without any increase in my eating. I would say 12 pounds in one month. I was wacked out all of the time. Foggy--sleepy--and yes I did halucinate (sp?) some...I couldn't remember things either. This medication is scary. I know several others who were put on it at the same time--all by the same Doc--and none of them stayed on it. The Doctor said that it would get better as my body got used to it---but mine never did. Please be careful!

I have been taking it successfully for about ten months now. There has been no weight gain and in fact I have been slowly losing.........intentionally. Initially, I had a real problem with severe droziness. I was taking 50 mg twice a day. I had to take it at bedtime and in the early afternoon when I could take a nap or I was holding on to the walls when I would try to walk. I was also so dizzy that I could not read or use the computer. This side effect lasted about three months. I now take 50 mg three times a day with no side effects and it has really helped in pulling down the neuropathic pain. Good luck.

Thank you Barnbum and Spiney!! Wow it really sounds like it affected both of you alot differently!! Well I'm on day 3 now and I haven't done anything else stupid. I do notice that when I take it I'm very sleepy, but that's not a bad thing for me.
As with any other medication I will monitor my side effects and see if this works for me.
Thanks so much for responding......I was beginning to think no one had taken this stuff!!
