Default Lost In The Twilight

Early evening settles
upon the mountain top
dimming the light of day
preparing for the night.

Covering restless wrens
with a blanket of calm.
Fat squirrels cease to chatter
barn owls prepare for flight.

A pale moon shows it's face
hanging dim in the sky
my yard swing is fading
soon to vanish from sight.

Through my picture window
I watch darkness fall and
the moments of twilight
turn slowly into night.
