Smile hi, I'm new to this site:-)

Hi
Firstly I would like to say hi to everyone. I have been introduced to this site by a collegue of mine, who speaks very highly of your team.
My sister in law has just given birth to my nephew on Sunday. They only found out on Friday that he was diagnosed with downs. This has been quite a shock to us all in the family, and to be honest I am just about getting my head round it all. I was wondering if there is any advice on how to support my sister in law. Also if there is an increased chance of myself having a downs child because of this. I am 37 and am aware that my age is a risk factor.
Thank you
Stella

Hey, Stella.

Welcome to BT!

There is a Down Syndrome forum here, but I don't think it gets a lot of action:

You might also try Child Neurology:

Good luck!

Hello Stella, Welcome!!

First, Congratulations on your new nephew but I'm so sorry to hear about the downs. I don't have any info to help but I'm sure there will be others that come along that can help.

Good Luck to you all!!

Take care,
Linda
