Unhappy Clinic DOESN'T have room????

When I took Adam and Noah to see thier neurosurgeon for thier yearly visit for thier brain cyst and Chiari, I mentioned how I had been trying to have Adam checked for Aspergers/ASD/Autism.. I told him about a few of the things we were dealing with and things I had read about. I had also read how they could possibly see Autism on an MRI but found out that was a functioning MRI not regular MRI..

He asked if he had been seen at the M.I.N.D clinic (we see him at UCDavis in Sacramento California) and the MIND clinic is there also. I said no. He told me they do LOTS of work with Autism and other neuro developmental stuff. I asked if he could possibly send a referral there for Adam as I know how the university works. He said sure no problem....

So I give it a week or two. I call to check on the referral. The lady says.. Oh he is 11 yrs old? I said yes.. She said it was sent to the Psychiatric dept... and I guess I would have to wait to hear from them..

THEN I wait and just as I want to call again.. I get a letter in the mail stating that Adam is denied because they dont have room or capacity in the clinic... A UNIVERSITY... as big as they are and they are turning him away...aaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I went to thier website... It seems they request referrals from the PRIMARY care doctors.. So maybe that made some differance.. THO you would THINK that coming from a NEUROSURGEON who WORKS THERE would give SOME help to get him in...

THEN it says they want MRI's, EEGs (if any) and IEP's, medical records and stuff with it. uggggggggg

It also says they rarely take adolesents and adults.. (not sure if 11 yr olds are considered adolesents or children).. He isnt a toddler but not sure if he is a adolesant...

SOOOOOOOOOO I WONT give up.. Im calling thier pediatrician and talking to her.. I'm determined to see if I can get him in there... They also say THEY WONT be considered as a SECOND opinion.

SOMEONE has to help me figure out WHAT is going on with this boy...

Last Thurs. him and Noah got into another "fight"... A lady brought over a bag of clothes for them. I was in the kitchen doing dishes and they were in the living room. They were arguing over who got what. Caleb (my 14 yr old was in there with them). Apparently Adam got mad at Noah and I thought he hit Noah in the face with clothes but Caleb said he smacked Noah in the face with a binder. It scraped Noah's face above his lip. I got upset and did swat Adam... Adam hit me back I swatted him back and sent him to his room without dinner.. Adam got mad and wrote all over Noah's doll with markers and stood at the door and made noises on it and talked thru it for an hour or two trying to aggravate us. He finally fell asleep I think after awhile.

Noah STILL has a sore on his face from it. They were suppose to see the counselor today (I had called and left her a message that night) and talk about it but the counseling center called me today (3 hrs before our appt) and told me she is no longer there. . I guess she either up and quit with no notice or she got fired. She didnt tell us anything.

I'm not sure how to handle these boys. I know I was probably wrong how I handled Adam but smacking Noah in the face like he did just really just threw me off. I heard it in the other room.

Sorry this is so long..
