Hi, Guys..!!!
My Himalayan golden cathas had an ear infection for almost 2 weeks now. I am taking he to the dr and they are giving he tablets for it but nothing seems to work. He only gets these earcold this time of year. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what you did to solve it. I've suggested to put ear plugs in ears when she is around water to keep water out of her ears to see if that helps but she will not do that. I would appreciate any help. Thanks! |

Hi, nice to meet you.
Just wanted to let you know that there is a Pet Therapy forum here for users to discuss their pets. You might find that helpful. I must add that I know a Himalayan cat who tends to get a lot of ear problems. It'd be very difficult to put ear plugs in a cat. My feeling with the himalayan that I know, is that it sleeps so much curled up outside in the dirt, that perhaps an ants get in the ears and bite and set of reaction or else some other material like dirt or something else. I know these cats tend to like water, but surely your cat doesn't go under the water does it? The vet. needs to look inside the ear really carefully. Sometimes they can't see down far enough into the ear canal and if the cat is showing that it's really bothered by pain or irritation, they might need to put the cat to sleep or sedated very briefly so that they can look down far enough. There are drops that can be used and antibiotics if it's actually an infection, but sometimes it can take a long time to work... well that's my own experience with a himalayan cat with ear problems anyway. take care. Hope you find some answers. Lara |
