Default A favor for me for Christmas....

My kids are crazy about coins/money. No surprise there. Vince got into coins when he found a nickel in our change pile in the laundry room that turned out to be 200 years old or something - it has a buffalo on it, it's a buffalo nickel.

So, the favor is...Can I get someone with different coins than we have here in the USA, to send me two sets of your coins, and I'll do the same! I can send a set that has penny, nickel, dime, quarter, and a half dollar and dollar if the bank has them.

Anyone interested in trading with me? I'd love them from anywhere, the UK, Australia, NZ, Mexico, Canada, anywhere!!!!

It'd be a really inexpensive but thrilling gift for kids. I might make a note from Santa saying while he was flying over such and such country he got some hot cocoa and decided to give them his change.

Ok, let me know! I've been meaning to ask forever.

I know there are ppl here from all over.

Thumbs up

Oh man that is such a cool creative thing to do Milli! I am so impressed with your creativity, that is a really cool idea! I am in the US too of course but I just HAD to post and say that I love this idea and the one about making a note saying Santa gave Vince his change from a coco he bought on the way around the globe is precious. You are something special lady.

I agree, awesome idea. If you live near the airport you'll be able to exchange currency there, or maybe at a Travel Agency if they do it. I like the note idea too

Hey Pam is that anything Jackie would be interested in? If not, think of something Wisconsin has that Florida does not like a pine cone or whatever and I'll send it while he still believes in Santa and all things magical.

That'd be so cool Matika! You don't have to send lots or anything, would your kids think anything like that is neat? I'd love to send something back. If not coins, tell me what they would think was really neat to get from Wisconsin from Santa (no I won't send cheese, hee hee). An ornament for your tree? Let me know. And Thank You Thank You! This will be perfect for both kids. Carmen can find what a 'peso' is and it's value, etc.... and Vince can get on the puter and see all the 'weather' the coins have experienced in Mexico especially being as it has so much that borders the ocean.

Hi Fe-fe, yeah I know there's other ways I could get coins, and that's a good idea. I guess I like any chance I get to be closer to the folks here. I don't just want foreign coins, I want them from my mgh family. Yes, I'm a shameless big mush like that around the holidays.

Speaking of the weather in Mexico...Vince (who is totally into all things weather related) said something so funny, he was driving me nuts with his high energy level, I asked him to stop being so wild and he asked, "Do you want me to be light and variable?" Baawawawawaawawaa!!! Yes Vince, I DO!

I'm sure the Legos will be a big hit - I used to be crazy about Lego as well.

Yep... my sister put our tree up today. While she got the fun part of decorating the tree (she always insists that she do it her way ) I was the slave - "get me a twistie tie." "get me a power board." She couldn't find the container of decorations in the storage cupboard and was like "Where is it? Where did "you" put it?"

Wow! I just do presents in advance, cause if I do it little by little then Christmas isn't such a chore or financial drain...all the gifts go in our closet in the basement which the kids never go in. But I'm not quite in the Christmas spirit enough yet for a tree...wow your sister sure has the Christmas spirit!

Oh yeah he loves quarters, (to him pennies, nickles and dimes are all quarters) and dollars. He definitely would recognize that other coins are not quarters though. He likes to put any loose change he finds in my purse too. It's so funny. LOL!

LOL!! Buffalo nickels were out just before Jeffersons, from about 1920 to 1937. I have some...somewhere.
