I took her in to see the Dermatologist today 10/3/2006 to find out what is going on with her hair and face. She also has had lots of truma over the summer I was told it could be this too . 33 days in the hospital.

I've been taking 600mg Lamictal for over 3 years now. Even being a 47 year old male, I still have a full head of hair with no loss.

Hair loss is not one of the side effects of Lamictal, but every medecine affects every person differently.

Here is a link to an excellent web site to check up on medecation, what it does, what it's for, and the side effects.

I didn't have hair loss with Lamictal but I definitely have it with Keppra and had it with Topomax and Zonegran. It's one of the more frustrating side effects for me.

Yes, my hair thinned from Lamictal. The drug company considers alopecia to be an "infrequent" side effect. I have read of other people losing hair because of Lamictal. Most epilepsy meds can cause hair loss.

Default No hair loss

No hair loss for me. I'm on 125mg twice a day. I did, however, have tremendous back pain and lots of simple partials every time I upped the dose. Good luck - it's a good medicine.

Selenium is an excellent suppliment that helps hair to grow back and also washing your hair with Selsen Blue. I was on a medication about 15 years ago that made me loose 50% of my hair! It came out in clumps. The seleium and the shampoo brought it back to normal.

Yes, I have hair loss on Lamictal. It has keep me seizure free for about a year, but my hair is so thinned I'm going to have to go off of it. I have bald spots on front of my head.
