I was just prescribed this by my gastro a few weeks ago...I have not used it yet since I have had too many appts each day to be able to be home. I do not know how I will react to it so I want to make certain I can stay home for the entire day and not have to travel outside the house when I take it.

I have been on it for several months. While it certainly DOES eliminate the horrible IBS cramping, it does nothing to facilitate movement for me and I take it twice a day. I will settle for eliminating the cramping and continue on in my quest for regular movement. Best wishes.

Thanks for your replies... I am tempted to ask my PM to let me try it. My problems are due to the opoids and now to have a movement, it becomes a two day effort between dozens of pills, then a suppository and then an enema if all else fails.. I am sick of it...

I just started to use this drug this week...The first few days I thought it was worthless. I have not stopped using my Miralax and do not know if I am supposed to use it with this drug, but this drug by itself does nothing....Today for the first time I saw the benefit...I think this drug creates or causes peristalsis... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peristalsis I am still using the Miralax two/three times a day though....so I do not know if that is a good thing...

Thanks for the info.. I had tried Miralis but it did absolutely nothing for me.. I just got a message that they have decided to include me in a study of Novartis. I will call them tomorrow...
