Question help I have no appetite!

Help, I have almost no appetite. I'm living on meal substitutes and a fw healthy snacks. I love cheese and rice, but since I am having constipation problems (due to meds), my Dr. says they're out for now. Altho, I have finally started eating 1/2 c. bran buds and it's really helping, but that's with hardly any solid food!
So, what do you eat when you have no appetite?
Thanks in advance,
Cathy

Default comfort foods

hey cathy!

sorry to hear you are having this problem. i sometimes get it when i have a cold or other minor illness and also during pregnancies.

when i think of comfort foods, i think of foods that i liked as a child. mac and cheese from a box, tomato soup with crackers, tuna fish sandwiches, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, scrambled eggs, yogurt, cottage cheese and fruit cocktail. all these foods have mild flavors. use whole wheat bread and you will increase your fiber which will help with your digestive probs. just make a list of foods that can be prepared easily that you liked in the past. frozen foods that you bake can also be great at this time!

also, i have found that having someone prepare the foods for you, like a family member or even going out to eat, helps. sometimes you don't feel well enough to cook and the energy the cooking requires makes you lose your appetite to eat when it's cooked!

i hope you are feeling better soon!
