Default Just Checking In...

Hi Everyone,

I copied and pasted a post that I replied to in another thread. I thought that I would start a new thread simply to initiate some activity in this room. I hope that this double post doesn't confuse anyone.

xoxo,
Annie B.

Thanks for all of the replies and good wishes. I am so glad to have this place to come to, if only when I need to vent or just to talk, so to speak!
Bats--you are so right. The only way to experience the true HAPPY, JOYOUS and FREE life that we all know is out there for us, is to work the entire circle (or square) of recovery. The fellowship is important, but the service and steps are vital and without them, there can be no sobriety. One can maybe be clean, but not sober and recovering.
I do hope that all reading this know that my words are my opinion only--not anyone else's. Please don't flame me or the wonderful 12 steps of AA/NA. This is what has saved my life and it's important to me that I acknowledge it here, especially at a time when it is difficult for me to work the program as I need to be working it.
Citiog, I am insulin dependent and take up to 6 shots a day. I can empathize with both you and your kitty. Your kitty is most certainly not even feeling the needle as they are so finely gauged these days. (I use a 31 gauge and don't even feel the pinch!) You, as my hubby is also insulin dependent and there have been times when he's been in crisis and I've had to take the sugar and do his shot. It's like what our parents used to say to us right before the spanking--"This is going to hurt me much more than it does you!" Good luck to kitty, John, Vinny, and of course, Citiog. You seem to be a wonderful friend and I hope that your circle know how lucky they are to have someone like you in their lives. The service that you give to them is a gift from God.
It's late guys and I've got a sick Ellie. (Strep throat) She's in bed now, but is going to start crying for me any minute. I haven't eaten dinner yet so gotta go and grab some grub before she starts!
So happy that you all stopped by! Hope some others do as well!

xoxo,
Annie B.

Hi Annie. I've been laid up with a rotton cold. It's the only that one that really got hold of me all Winter. It must have been a super bug that really put me down for a while. Doing OK now but when I feel a cold getting hold of me I have to stop everything and get to bed. I had pneumonia a few years ago and that left me very susceptable to Bronchitis and pneumonia.

My kitty cats are very sooicitopus of me when I'm not feeling well. They lie one on each side when I'm in bed and snuggle very close to me. Oh, it's Steve's cat that is diabetic; mine are quite healthy. Mittens is the mama and BJ is her son; whe's about 11 and he is just 10.

Hope all the "lurkers" out there are dloing OK. Just wish they wou dl check in once in a while.

Have a great weekend

One lurker checking in. I come here every day and for a while checked in but it seemed as though there were no one else out there so now I just stop and see if anyone needs a word and then move on to my regular forum. I too love this place and come throughout the day everyday. I come with my first morning coffee and with my jammies and good nights, with a couple times in between.

Hi Christina. I do a lot of lurking myself. Have had to cut back on my computer time. I found myself spending much too much time on the internet and in the wrong web sites. So I'm practicing some self-control in my net surfing and overall computer time for a while.

Everything in moderation and for one day at a time. Have to stick to the basics, always the basics and flor me K.I.S.S. (keep it simple stupid ).

We are in for some wild weather this weekend here in the East. Hope it's better where you all are.

Here in Michigan it constantly changes, we're supposed to get sun this morning and then clouds and rain but no sign of the sun. We say if you don't like the weather then just blink, it'll change. Some rain coming, yuch, but that is part of spring.

I find myself spending every morning on the computer mostly here at BT but duty calls (housework, kids, lol) and I eventually have to get off.

Have a good day.
