Default Problem Editing Profile/Avatar

Hello,

I hope someone can help - I am unable to post an avatar as there isn't an 'Edit Avatar' option included with the edit options panel when I go to 'User CP'. I've included a screengrab here, and as you can see the only edit options available are 'Edit Email & Password', 'Edit Profile' and 'Edit Options'. I cannot, however, find 'Edit Avatar' under 'Edit Options' either.

I also am not sure how to add a signature line to my posts.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Just an FYI to the above post - I am in 'Enhanced Interface' mode and am still having the problem of not being able to access an 'Edit Avatar' option.

Halp.

Thank you.

hypatia ,

if you click on "PRIVATE MESSAGES" at the top right of your screen (you have to be signed in), it will take you not only to your mailbox, but to your control panel. the control panel is on the far left hand hand side and underneath it are "settings and options". under that your "edit avatar" should be right there.

"edit signature" is right there also.

i don't know what enhanced interface is, but i am able to access the control panel thru normal interface .

hope this helps,
jeannie

i also clicked on "quick links" in the blue line right underneath that box on the far right hand side and was able to access my control panel by clicking on that. from what i see, that's the way you did it, cause i got the same headings. it seems to me that the "enhanced interface' may be the problem?

Sigh... *sniff*

Hi Jeannie,

Nope, going that route doesn't work either.

I never had tried the 'Quick Links' before, but I did after you mentioned it, but that only gave the same results (I know you were thinking that might have been how I got to 'User CP' in the first place, but it wasn't).

Someone suggested I check the settings for my browser, which is Firefox, but I couldn't see anything that should keep me from being able to access the edit functions.

I registered with another user name and had the same problem, so it must be something on my end.

It was also suggested I post about this in 'Forum Feedback' with the thought that maybe more members would see it there, so I think I'll try that too.

Thanks muchly for your suggestions and for trying to help. Maybe eventually I'll get this worked out!

Cool

I am having the same problem and log in from my Blackberry.

When I first logged in I was able to create a siggy, but my profile wasn't "live". Once I was active, my siggy disappeared, as did my ability to create one....

goddess ,

if you check out hypatia's thread in the forum feedback forum, you will see that you need to post 30 times to be able to attach an avatar to your name.

maybe the same thing is true about your signature.

you can send an email to any moderator whose name you see posted in any forum by clicking on their name and then clicking "send a private message" on the drop-down menu.

hope this helps.

jeannie
