Well I can tell I am in Michigan because the sky is blue, the sun is shining, and it is snowing nice fat flakes. :) I hope this morning finds you well. 'Tis a new day. I myself am kind of grouchy this morning. Didn't sleep well and am trying not to rely on too many meds. With my addictive personality that can become hazardous; even if my thing was not pills an addiction can take any form. The old bait and switch. So I will slog through until I get to take my nap :D which I will surely enjoy. I remember when I first got clean, I couldn't get enough sleep. It was like sleeping through the withdrawls. Love my sleep.
Anyway, enough rambling, let me find something for you, ah, here it is.
As we grow, we come to understand humility as acceptance of both our assets and our liabilities. What we want most is to feel good about ourselves. Minus our addiction, we have real feelings of love, joy, hope, sadness, excitement. Our feelings are not our old addiction fueled feelings. We need to avoid old thinking patterns, both the old ideas and the tendency toward complacency. We cannot afford to become complacent, because our disease is with us twenty-four hours a day.
A little something to ponder. Hope it makes you think and helps fuel you on your road to recovery.
May a smile find you today. :)
