Hello Everyone!!
Wow did I miss all you fine people!! I guess I'm a little slow in finding my way back but glad to be here.
I am a 1 1/2 year aneurysm rupture survivor. It happened while I was driving to work in a snowstorm, to this day I wonder how i even survived, considering I hate driving in snow let alone having an aneurysm rupture while doing it!!! I spent almost 1 month in a hospital ICU recovering, had vasospasms and memory problems as a result of the rupture. I struggle every day with depression and bouts of anxiety, but try to look at the positive side of life. I have 2 remaining aneurysms that are small and being monitered.
I have not returned to work as a nurse, as it was such a sourse of stress for me and don't want to get in that situation again. For now a am enjoying being a homemaker somthing I have never done, worked continually since the age of 15, I'm 47. Well glad to be back in communication with all of you and look forard to reading all the posts and catching up.

Hi Ruthie,

Glad to hear you are doing well. It's Maria (aka Gafey). I too had a rupture during snow storm - I was clearing the snow off my car and I felt a 'pop' behind my neck. It was a small annie, I was told, but was in the middle of two major arteries. It's been 10 months for me since my rupture. I have daily bouts of depression and vertigo and short term memory issues. But still very fortunate that I have survived the ordeal, especially for my family - I have 3 kids and a wonderful husband.

This site was so very helpful during my recovery and the fact that I can still type and communicate is a miracle in itself!

Take care, Maria

Hi Ruthie - Glad you made your way back!! I'm back to work but I can retire in less than a year with my benefits and I can't wait. Its really a struggle and sometimes I just want to quit but I'm almost there. -- I'm having a small anuerysm monitored also and it makes me kind of nervous but I'm still one os the fortunate ones. Welcome back!!
