Im so sorry regarding my previous threads, that repeated,Fianally Back Again 3 times, was having computer problems. Anyway I have not had any reply's so far. This is so hard to type as my left hand is curled up into a purple ball. The meds that I am taking are not easing the pain!! I guess I have built up a tolerance since I have been on them for so long. I am taking.. 200mg of morphine Sulfate twice a day,30 mg of morphine sulfate every 4-6 hrs that is instant release.200mg of Topamax at night and 200mg in the a.m. And Clonazepam 1mg 3 times a day. Also 60mg of Morphine sulfate. All of this and the pain is increasing...Unreal!! I live alone and if thats not enough its on a second story apt bldg, that I have to walk up 24 stairs just to get to my living room. It's amazing how I have to get groceries up here what a chore!! I am living on disibility and food stamps. I know you have all heard it before, but right now I just need some friends to chat with on this site who have walked a mile in my shoes!!!! Always Breezy Aka Elizabeth :(

Hiya breezy, I am new here but wanted to say I feel for ya, and you are not alone. Have you been on the Lyrica? It has helped me enormously, I actually was able to come off the morphine when my lyrica dose was doubled. Anyway hun, ((((you)))) and remember, we cannot let this monster win!

Sorry you're in so much pain. Me too, but I am getting by (I guess).
If it wasn't for Lyrica I'd be dead. I needed 600mg to get a result, but it helps more than anything with the pain. I have RSD just about everywhere...
It may take a while to get adjusted to Lyrica and this dose, but once you do, the side effects are not bad. In fact, I don't notice anything.
It's also important to be on an antidepresant... not for depression, but it helps with the pain. Something like Cymbalta would be a good choice.
Good luck.

I agree without the Lyrica, my hands would be crippled. Mine has spread from one side to the other in the hands, wrist and arms. I know that this is depressing, but fight the depression. Gentle Hugs my friend. We all know that this is part of our poopy diagnoses, and we just have to continue fighting to learn new ways to cope.
My suggestion is from something I read in the begining of all of this. Do one thing every day that you enjoy. Read a little, do a craft, watch a movie, take time to medatate. Something that is for you only and takes time for you to be with yourself. There are days when I will retreat to a quiet room for a half hour or will play a game with my family. Make time for what you enjoy and do it the best you can. Do not let what you do not feel up to get you down.

I have never haerd of Lyrica however I will ask my Dr. As for Cymbalta sp?? I can not take that because of my past medical history. Also I have tried every anti-depressant out there and have always had a severe reaction to all of them!! I appreciate your care and concern, also I am here for each and everyone of you!1 I have been thru so many treatments.. so don't be afraid to ask. Also I was a nurse for the last 20 plus years,so please keep the???? coming. Always Breezy Aka Elizabeth ;)

:D Lyrica is a new anti convulsant that works for diabetic dystonia and RSD. Here is a link From the Mayo Clinic. That way you can have something to print and take to the Dr's. I am involved in alot of newsgroups and it does not work for everyone but maybe you will be one of the lucky ones.
Gentle Hugs,
Rain
