HI
Ever since I started with the chronic pain, I seem to be sore all over.
Has anyone else experienced this?
I do not know if it is from the drugs or from lack of exercise ?
I ' m just curious , why my body feels sore all over this is besides the chronic pain.
I understand the sciatic area being sore and always with these enflamed nodules.
This is different. When I rub an area, under the ribs
or my back everything seems to be sore. It's hard to explain. When I touch my ribs they seem like they are brusied.
If I bump my arm I get these red welts . Like you see
on much older people in there 70-80.
I hope I made some sense. If you have any ideas or experiences like this let me know. Thankyou.
Have a good day. Cookie5

Cookie have you ever seen a rheumy? I ask because you're talking about areas being sore. I have fibromyalgia too and I feel alot like you just described and some days it's much worse than others. It could be normal for you with the other things you're going through, but I'm only giving you my personal experience.
Also I don't know where you live but alot of people complain about their pain increasing in certain weather conditions. Just a thought.

Lisa has given you a couple of good ideas. I don't know why it is happening with you as mine is from my spinal problems. Even when my acute pain was controlled I had underlying europathic pain and it too Cymbalta to control that for me.
Since having my lumbar fusion in April I have periods of feeling ill all over...On one occassion I just started to cry to my PM doc....Not in character for me at all...I told him I hurt everywhere and just felt terrible. He sent me for all kinds of blood work and I tested positive for Rheumatoid Arthritis. I now see a Rheumatologist in conjunction with my Pain management doctor.
You might have a problem with your immune system. You could have RA, Fibromyalgia, Lupus, Lyme Disease....The list goes on and on..

Either you have a total body problem or your dorsal horn is oversensitive.

Fibro is a total body problem as well as RA. I would suggest going to a rheumy. As GJZH said there are many things that could be going on with you and you're much better off to have them checked out. I hope you feel better today!!

I think my dorsal horn is overly sensitive! Seriously, something is wrong! I ache all over too. However, my Rheumy tested me too...once again and the same with PN, negative for Fibro, negative for heavy metals, just negative all over the place with all the testing! So, WHY the pain???! Honestly, sometimes I think it might something as simple as a hormonal imbalance with me. Well, maybe not simple but something that could be dealt with more easily. But most of it is the spinal stuff I guess.
Cookie,
Years and years ago I had that red welt thing going on. I could just barely graze my arm and red welts and lines would just pop up. I went to the Dermatologist and they called it Dermagraphism...something like that. And they actually played tic tac toe on my arm! It was weird!!! LOL Come to find out it was a "nervy-ervy" deal so they had me to take Ativan I believe and maybe Benadryl. Gosh, it is hard to remember as I was only 21. But basically it was an anxiety deal and once I took the meds it went away and stayed away. A lot of changes were going on in my life then; and positive ones but evidently I was nervous without even REALIZING it. Anyway, not saying that this is your issue. But I wanted to add to sometimes my ribs feel bruised.

Hopefully, you don't have another problem. If memory serves me, most pain meds list joint aches as a possible side effect. Again, I'm not positive.
Of course, if it's bothering you to the point of mentioning it here, you should proabably bring it up with your doc. the next time you see him/her.
Pain free days,
Pete

I wanted to thank everyone who responded to my post.
YOu all gave me a lot of information. And some things
I had not thought about myself.
I have never seen a rhemy, never even thought of it.
I do take cymbalta , but that did not change anything.
I take ativan also, can't take benadryl because of asthma.
Overstimulated Dorsal horn, NOw that is a new one on me. I have never heard of that before, I will look it up.
It is good to know you are all here. God knows I need all of your help.
Sometimes it is just downright funny, especially when
i am in terrible pain, and the constipation is horrible,
I will be sitting on the throne, rubbing my back muscles
and trying to you know, and then the hot flashes, or pill sweats overcome me and sweat is running down my back and into my eyes. I just start laughing histerically
right before I break out crying my eyes out.
But, lately sense I have been asking you guys for help,
YOu have made me feel better.
Thank YOu so much. Cookie
