I want to add my hearty amen. A lot of people, myself included, have some very strong feelings about changes that would make this a better site. I think if we hold steady and try to keep the communication flowing, we will all get there in one piece. Have a good day.

Something people need to remember is that this website is NOT a democracy. No independent business is. It is up to the sole discression of the business owner how they run things. In this case Mr. Lester is providing a service that to the best of my knowledge he doesn't make a lot of money from. Should he decide to change things based on public opinion the public needs to remember that he is doing so out of the goodness of his heart and NOTHING else. Now if he were to start charging to be a member, and make use of the service then I would say input would matter as if things weren't run well he would be out of business.

People have been questioning money from adds, donations, etc. Websites ending in .org are often hosted free of charge on the condition that you allow adds to be on your website. Now Mr. Lester has said that his organization gets money from Google I believe it was.... When I have asked other people with .org websites what the compensation is the amount was often laughable. In the case of this website I haven't gotten the figures yet though I am requesting them.

It's very simple. This is the USA. No one is forced to use this site. If people can do so much better then live the American Dream and start your own website. People have been complaining about the down time. I haven't spoken to Mr. Lester yet as to who owns the server BT utilizes. Very few people with websites own the server they are on. This would explain why part of this isn't under his control. Sometimes change is a good thing... Like changing your clothes so you have clean clothes on. However, change as some people do, a different hair color weekly simply because they can isn't always good when you are trying to run a business.

I can not and will not argue with a word you said. I must be getting old/older. Have a good day and keep your boots clean.

Two things....

One, I'd like to thank those that are recognizing the challenges involved regarding the the amount of work & time that needs to be done to maintain, administrate, moderate, and restore when there is a problem...:D

Two....

I want to make sure everyone knows that BrainTalk Communities Incorporated is a Nonprofit Organization. All of BrainTalks assets belong to the Nonprofit Organization, and is governed by the Board of Directors. No one a BTC Inc. Draws any salery, gets any compensation for their work or time. Often, it is the reverse. All those contributing to the service of this community do so out of passion, because they care.

Giving credit where you believe it is due, is the best way you, as members, can reward those who give their time here.

Again, thank you...:p

I appreciate all that you all do for us. I know things are going to be bumpy at first because of new cool features, but it sounds like thiings are moving in the right direction and that makes me feel safe and sound here with my friends. I am glad thiings are still stable and hope to see a data import done within a month of now if that is possible. If not let us know what kind of ETA we're looking at and it won't be brought up again. ;)

It's not easy to get used to a new set of features, especially the thing about warnings and suspension. That I can see needs a good shake-down and hopefully it will not be even a afterthought in our minds by this time next month when we're gearing up to have Turkey days and holiday happiness we need to share and show our friends support throughout. BT is a wonderful place and I am proud to be a part of this great community. :)

I am so happy BT is back up and operating, it's just a wonderful feeling to know we're all going to get to share the holidays together after missing our friends so much over the long hard summer. It's a thankless job I'm sure, being on moderating staff, but I am glad some people care enough to do that hard job that makes BT a better place to be. :)
