Hi, I have never posted to this thread(I don't think)..I had a tilt table test today and it was done after a ct angiography in which they gave me a beta blocker first. I felt so much better after the beta blocker cause my heart was not pounding. It seems that my pulse has been around 100+ all the time. I get dizzy when I lean over front wise. When I stand up from a sitting position I get this immediate headache that only stays for a very short time but it is severe. I am wondering if the beta blocker would affect the tilt table test? I also have headaches in two distint places on my scalp. It comes and goes and is always in the same two localized places. I have multiple health issues but no one seems to address this prob.
Thanks for any help!

Why is your doctor doing a tilt table test? Have they diagnosed you with any sort of autonomic dysfuction? This is the whole reason I get my headaches. It took a long time and 2 weeks at Mayo to get my diagnosis and to make sense out my life and what made all of my symptoms finally make some sense to a doctor. I have a lot of info on this subject if you think this could be part of your problem. You can send me a private message and I would be glad to share anything I have with you. Good luck Kristin
If this is infact part of your problem be patient. It can be so frustrating beacuse it is not common and there is not a whole lot of treatments out there right now.

Check out the CSF Leak page. Is the pain when you get up from sitting?or lying down?
Might be worth checking it out.

Hi flowerfloosey!!! I was also going to tell you to check out the CSF leak page. You may also see if there are any pages on here for Meniere's Disease. I have had Meniere's for many years and I've also had a CSF leak, so I'm familiar with being dizzy and certainly with headaches from hell!!! That's what I call the bad ones at least--haha You are also welcome to private email me if you want. Let me know what the doctors are testing for or suggesting at least and I'm sure everyone on this site can point you in the right direction.
That's what great about this site-you will always find a lot of support here!!! Good luck and keep us informed.

Beta blockers will cause dizziness, especially if you aren't taking it on a regular basis. Do you get dizzy all the time or just after you took the beta blocker?
Best wishes,
AJ

I can sympathize with flowerfloosey. I get the same unbearable headaches when I stand up after sitting down for even a short time. The headaches have nearly caused me to black out on numerous occasions, blackness closing off my vision and everything. The only difference is that have not taken any beta blockers in my life. Can anyone give me advise to make it stop?
