Hi..It has been some time that I was on this site and there have been changes as I can see..I use to go by wind chime if anyone remembers but the log in did not remember it so I re-registered..
Anyway my new pain doctor of 2 weeks wants to do a selection tissue conduction study on my legs..Is that like an EMG?? Has anyone had that done before and if so please tell me about it..and does it hurt.? I have RSD in my entire body..I am at the end of stage 2 with continued deteriation..My prior pain doctor of 8 years had dissmissed me in september of 2006 because I brought my service dog with me a couple of times..the last time she physically took the leash and pulled my dog outside of the building..I have a civil action against her for discrimination..This new doctor in my opinion is not very versed in RSD..He took me off percocet, which I have been taking for several years because he was concerned about addiction..!!!! he put me on the fentenal patch 25mg, one every 3 days...I hate them..anyway..I will look forward to hearing from you......Thank you:)

It is like an EMG, it did hurt me, quite bad, but this was at the end of 4 hours of testing, including the Nerve condutivity, and the QSART tests. I was worn out and you know how it is when you do to much.

Good luck to you.

Also, watch yourself on that patch closly, I had an awful time with it. I went outside once in the garden, and sun shined on it, it release too much and I OD'ed. So be very careful.

Thank you for the reply. I hope this test doesn't take 4 hours. so far I can't scheduel for it because it is only done on Fridays and on that day of the week I see my analist. I did discuss this patch with my doctor yesterday and was given 2 other options..one is to switch to oxicotin and the second to swithc to morphine..both of which I don't like for simple fact they make me drowsy all day..They did not suggest upping the patch to 50mg's or having me change them every 2 days instead of 3..As for the heat (sun) as you know with RSD our bodies produces its own heat (and chills) due to our internal thermostat is messed up, I think that is caused by the auditory nervous system being out of wack..anyway, when my body gets hot, like a heating pad, will that affect the patch? and if it does maybe that is why I am not getting the full benefit of wearing it....???
