...I recieved a compliment from one of my son's teachers.

Last week i was speaking with my son's 3rd grade teacher, he is now in 4th grade.

She told me that no matter how bouncy and all ove rhte place he was, she would rather have 5 of him to "redirect" then to deal with the lip given to her from some of the students she has this year.

In the past 5 yrs that I have bene dealing with the teachers and trying to instill in my son respect at school and everywhere, I couldn't help but beam a bit.

I know it doesn't solve all the kids problems or parents problems....but I am in agreement with her. I would rather deal with the hyperness and spacyness of one of our kids, then to have the sassyness from a child who sits still and thinks they know it all.

I hope some of you can appreciate this this morning.

Have a great day

Thanks Katie! It helps to keep it in perspective sometimes.

I agree. I am a special ed. teacher and I have ADHD as well. I'd rather have the challenge of reaching a child with ADHD in the way that he/she learns than the smart mouthed kid that says how "easy" or "simple" something is in a sarcastic manner.

It's so nice to hear when you're doing a good job as a parent and others recognize it.

I subbed in a special ed class on Thursday and I have to say they were all very nice and behaved. On the other hand I did lunch duty in a regular ed
5th grade. I had to to more discipling in the 25 minutes I was there than the 4.5 + hours I was in the special ed class. Parents just don't seem to teach their children discipline and respect anymore but don't get me started.

Now I have to admit, what cracks me up sometimes is that when we look at kids and think OMG WHAT ARE THEY DOING????????? If it was an adult, we'd not have that reaction at all:confused: Some would think that the person is a genius or the like.

Always keep in mind the benefits of being able to multitask, some people can't get past go, while others run around the course the way they are supposed to, while others still make a checklist of shortcuts to get to the finish line first.
