Robyn,
Within the returned mail, are you seeing an error code along with some information included about why it was undeliverable? I'd look for an error code included in the returned mail.
Sometimes, when I send mail, it also bounces, though I'm sending to a friend and know that the address is valid or good.
There are many reasons it could happen. A couple of them are:
A) Another ISP could be receiving spam (not from you) someone using the same ISP as you and has blocked all mail from your ISP.
B) The person or address your writing might have a full mail box and need to check or retrieve mail or delete some.
I'm not sure what this means: "am using e-mail through site?" Would you mind elaborating a bit; i.e., are you saying you use browser-based or online mail service?

If you are using the "send member an email" option after clicking on their name, please PM the error message to me so that I may look into it.
Bobbi is correct on saying that those are the 2 most common reasons for an email to be returned. Another is that the email account is no longer active.
