I'm sharing these pics because I know some aren't able to get away.
As long as I'm able I'll travel as long as hubby's willing to drive us.
There's no place like home...then again...there's no place like a nice place at the beach!
We stayed 2 nites at Inn at Cape Kiwanda in Pacific City, Oregon.
12 miles south of Tillamook...where the cheese is made.
I'll post pics another day of the cheese factory if anyone wants to see them.
It was unusually warm and sunny....got up to 63* and below freezing at night. I braved cold water....took shoes off for an ankle deep dip.:D
Almost full moon too! Brilliant blue sky and sunsets just breathtaking.
One picture you might be able to find the 2 surfers.
Years ago they had a rabbit "farm", a few got loose...
so the place is over run with bunnies....hundreds of them!
Wild, but not too fearful, espicially when they hear the
plastic bag crinkle... filled with bunny food. So cute!
Larry looking for ways to pay for our dinner! LOL! Found 2 pennies and 50 nails!
Hope you enjoy the "beach combing" without having your feet get wet!
Blessings, cheryl

Here's a panoramic veiw of Cape Kiwanda@ Pacific City
1st pic is looking south....then panned to "haystack rock" then north to the Cape. What an awesome weather we had...unusually warm and sunny for this time of year and Oregon....its usually dripping wet.
Have fun! Cheryl

Here's more pics.
Our kitties wanted to go...packed themselves!
Dog we found, possible abandonded on the beach. We thought of taking him home with us...but....He's such a nice dog! Missing one eye...I called him "One Eyed Jack" I'mthinking about driving back there and get him:confused: Breaks my heart thinking someone dumped this big loving sweetheart doggie! Do any of you know what breed he is? I'm thinking part Berineise Mt Dog. He was very freindly with both animals and people. Didn't chase the birds or horses that were on the beach...most dogs do.
He wandered like a lost puppy the 3 days we spent there. awe...!:(
We felt he was looking for his master...going up to anyone who came around the beach...then he'd run up to someone else.
He's well trained, sit, stay, leash, shake hands, hi-5, speak for treats...so!?!
Who'd leave such a dog...I don't beleive someone could be so heartless.
Satin found a puppy just like here...Black English Labs....Came from same kennel/breeder in mid Washington, so they're related! The puppy is a spittin image of baby Satin.
Larrys standing next to a beautiful river that ran along the road to Tillamook. Awesome lava formations made it really cool looking. I took more pics of this...will post later if interested.
The Inn alows you to bring your fur babies, for a fee of course....they give them a doggie bag filld with treats, their own beach towel and a soft blanket so they can cozy up to the fireplace in our room.
They had pillowtop mattress and feather pillows...new leather couch, down comforter on the bed, microwave, small refrig, they're installing big flat screen TV's...but with the veiw from the rooms...who wants to look at TV!
Its a pretty nice place....more info...google "Inn at Cape Kiwanda"....anytime you're in Oregon, its the place to stay for a quiet get away off the beaten path...no traffice....no crowds...I was impressed! Hope we can get there again, soon.

Blessings, cheryl

Hi crytears,
Thanks very much for sharing your photos. Some years ago I did a couple of roadtrips at different intervals up and down the Oregon coast myself and it was just amazing! The only thing that was really scary were all the landslides or landslips I think you all call them. eeek
It sounds as if you had a wonderful holiday!
thanks for the photos.
take care,
Lara
