I think that I am sensitive to alot of the medications that the doctors give me anyway. Any adivce and is there things I should be forewarned about?:o

I also have chronic insomnia....! That medications don't help with. Just make me more less to concentrate...etc.

all4jesus, I think if you give a brief medical history with your symptoms, what tests you have had, what medication and supplements you are on, there are many here who will have ideas of what to do. Some may have ideas of how to talk to your doctors which may be helpful. It may also help you in the thinking and decision process if you have to state the problems in writing.

You may also want to copy your comments in more than one forum.

What is depacote and what is it prescribed for?

Hi,
I was on Depakote for almost one year for myoclonus/nonepileptic seizures. When I was taking it, I researched what vitamin depletions it could cause. One of them was biotin (one of the B vitamins), so I made sure to take a biotin supplement. Biotin deficiency can cause hair loss, and hair loss is listed as a possible side effect of Depakote.

The website for Shaklee ( www.shaklee.com ) has a section on Health, where you can research what interactions and depletions are known for medications and supplements. You will need to enter the generic name of Depakote, which is valproic acid.

Recently I realized that my multivitamin does not have a lot of calcium and magnesium, so I have started taking an additional calcium/magnesium supplement.

Good luck.
