Hi yall.
I use to post here..diffret user name but I honestly can't recall what.kq, or karebear most likley. Anyway I am Karen I have several issues with my spine and am very overweight. I lost about 100lb year before last on calorie counting and walking. I can't walk anymore but have been doing physical theraphy so maybe that will help. I will be doing aquatic exercises.

I am at that desperate point. In the last year I have tried Weight Watchers, Richard Simmons, Slimfast, and Atkins. I have not lost at all.
I try to care for my mother in law who has Alzhimers, but I am having to get help. I'm having a bad time dealing with the loss of ability being depressed and eating as a result. I am considering trying Medifast.

I am glad this board is back up.

Hi Karen,
I have often thought of you and wondered what happen to you. I will write you a PM later today. I am sure wondering if things would get better if your mother in law wasn't living in the house with you. I can't help but think you may be finding some peace with comfort food. You have had a lot on your plate for a long time. That is stressful. I know for I have walked in your shoes. My mother had Alzhimers. We did put her in a nursing home and yes, it bothers me yet today.

I don't know if you have read where last summer my husband had cancer and died in my arms. He only lived 3 months after being diagnosed, but the stress is a nightmare. NowI am coming off of a back surgery and 10-24 another surgery is scheduled. I have stayed with the old group tho and lost 34 pounds. You maybe needing a place to vent & find support.
Blessings,
Billie:)

Hi Karen

I have to say stress is hard on us both mentally and physically. I too have spine and weight issues. I am doing water exercises and it is a great help. It strenghts the muscles to support the bones. It is relaxing. The deep water with the aid of a belt helps pull the compression out of the back.

I have know being a care taker for a relative and our own having health issues makes more stress. Just getting along each day with back issues day after day is a full plate and the role of a care giver on top is a big load.

I think about loosing weight day after day some times I have a little success and then back to eating comfort food. I would feel better at a healthy weight. I just haven't been successful for a long time. I have not given up hope. I am just not sure what to do to.

I will offer my support and prayers to you that a weight loss will happen for you and help you. Take care and know I wish the very best for you.
