chloral hydrate triggered neuropathic pain

Help!
I took chloral hydrate (liquid ) 2 weeks ago and as soon as I sipped it I felt my throat and lips burning. I didn't dring the entire glass. Two weeks and a trip to the hospital later - am no better. My lips , mouth, throat espophagus and stomach are both painful and on fire. Dr. thinks it fired up my nerve endings and caused this neuropathic reaction. The fear of course is - will it subside? I'm on 75mcg fentanyl patch and started neurontin today. I sip9on aloe juice all day. I feel like I have been poisoned.

Any ideas?? I am desperate to get rid of this so it is not permanent

Sybdy cant help but wanted to post for you . I had something similar I think after being given prednisone at the er. all lymph node swelled, jaw, neck , head. very painful. etc. took over a month to go away also was accompained by a terrible rash on my back. I have full body rsd. Hope this helps. lisle
