View Full Version : We were blessed
The biggest problem we had with our two adoptive children were one had a milk allergy. Thank God for soy milk! Some insecurities and anger issues from being unwanted (their feeling in spite of assurance they were loved, not aborted) also. So I know how very lucky we were. Be glad when everyone finds their way back to BrainTalk and hope it does not go down again, ever!

Hi Joy...My son who was adopted also came to me with a milk allergy or intolerance...now he is 26 and milk is no longer a problem! How old are your children? The greatest challange for me was this past year when my son decided he wanted to move back and live with his birth family. His family lives about 250 miles away and there is still not a really nurturing environment to be around. We have always had contact with them...he has 6 brothers and sisters in his maternal side and another 6 from his paternal side. It was a difficult year with him staying there and missing the holidays with him...but HE IS BACK!!!! I guess the 22 years that he had me as a parent had some infuence on his moral character!!! How does the song go..."blood is thicker than water...but Love is thicker than blood..."

I agree this is a great place for everyone to find support.
It's true that allergies sometimes fade over time, or over a prolonged period of minute exposures (possibly not even aware of being exposed, such as in a tiny amount of milk in a packaged product, etc.)
Congratulations both of you.
