Taken from us so suddenly.. leaving a wife and 6 children

Gone

The rain fell like small glass beads
upon my face
i watched and waited for the end
to come
holding back glass beads of my own

and like the dawn it rose in me
the sadness and tears
came forth cascading like a waterfall

you were gone my friend

i watched your childrens faces
and their sadness and wept for them
their dad was gone

Proud she stood by the graveside...
with fear for the future
my friend through many years
her soulmate
taken

as the coffin was lowered in the ground
a single rose i placed upon it
and remembered your smile
and your laugh and your zest for life

and the love you brought into my life
through friendship
and wept again

Thank you my friend
Gone from this life
but in my heart forever
