Hi All,
My physiatrist has given up on me and my spasticity... surprise, surprise. He wants me to see Dr. Nimec at Boston Children's. I know there are a few fellow Taxachusetts folks here, anyone taken your kids to see her? I'm pretty fed up with the "doctor game," but am willing to give her a shot.
Thanks!

Take the chance. I have been taking my daughter to her for years and I think she is fabulous. She is approachable, easy to talk to. She sees the "whole picture". Definately worth your time! My daughter is a difficult "case" also but Dr. Nimec is very optimistic and overturns every stone. This is my experience.

Thanks Lesley! That's what I needed to hear. It's quite a trip going to see peds specialists as an adult. But, those are the folks who really know CP. Que sera... Will let you know how it goes.

Yes! She's great. She's the first person who thought Carly could walk! And, she was right. It put us on the right track. I wish she still came out west here. She would consult to Baystate Medical Center. At that time she was at Spaulding in Boston. Is she now on staff at BCH?

When I pulled her up on the net, it looked like a dual appointment between Spaulding and BCH. That's pretty common. My original doc is a Spaulding guy, too. Thanks to both of you. I'm not so sure that there's much that she can do for a CP old lady (relatively, of course), but worth a visit and a drive from Worcester.

Definately and she sees patients at Children's and Spaulding. Good luck! You'll probably have better luck scheduling at Spaulding.

We take Ethan to her... we see her jointly at the CP clinic with Dr Snyder. She's the one who oversees Ethan's baclofen pump. We really like her... she is busy as they all are, but she takes her time with you and sees the "whole picture".

NJenn,
I know I am a little late with this but your story sounds very similar. I live in sourthern Indiana but go to ST. Louis 3 times a year to get my Bacolfen refilled. I also still see a peds pt She is best thing that has ever happed to me. This just one of those things I have learned to laugh about. I hope the new doc. can offer you some new insite into your situation,
Cindy
