Her foot is doing okay they removed the remaining 5 stitches and it looked better than expected although not completely healed. They put steri strips over it and they are holding things together well. I have been massaging her legs 6 times a day to help promote circulation like her PT suggested and started giving her vanilla extract also to get the circulation to improve and I'm not sure if it is working yet or not. There are no signs of infection witch is great although when they took out the stitches they wrapped her foot with that tape that sticks to itself not the skin and they used a scented kind and the chemicals used to make it scented caused a bad rash on her foot.
We still haven't gotten her brace for her scoliosis yet hopefully we will get it in the next week or two. I plan to cal on Monday to see what the hold up is.

I'm glad her foot is healing, even if it's not complete yet. I didn't realize, until you posted earlier, that cuts were quite so serious for CPers. I was really worried you were going to say she reacted to the steri-strips. I wasn't expecting it to be the scented tape. Continued prayers for staying infection-free.

So glad to hear that Trish. You will have to let me know when you get the brace what kind it is. Hugs to sweet Shelby from Miss Megs.

I am so glad there is no infection and it has healed nicely. Why does vanilla improve circulation? I have never heard of that before. You learn something new everyday.:)

Ainee on here actually told me about some things she takes to improve her circulation and I took the list to Shelby's Ped and he said it wouldn't hurt to try. I don't know if it is helping or not and I'm not sure it will help Shelby but it helped Ainee and I as long as the ped doesn't see any harm in it I figured we'd give it a shot.
Here is the info on the different things Ainee posted that she uses to help her circulation.
One teaspoon Vanilla essence in water, juice, milk or in food
OR one teaspoon of vanilla extract in water, juice, milk or in food
(NOT imitation Vanilla) - Vanilla properties are similar to Vitamin C.
OR half an inch of Vanilla bean (crushed) in food
OR one dessertspoon of any kind of Honey - taken anyhow
OR one teaspoon brown vinegar in water, juice or in mashed vegetables.
I can choose any ONE of these as a dose - can take which ever I choose at each dose.
These dose amounts are for about 9st - 57ks or over. If I were lighter or a frail person, I think half the above dose amounts would be sufficiant, 3 or 4 times a day.
As they are food ingredients, I think if it doesn't do any good, then at least it won't do any harm - but see your doctor before changing any medication. I've been taking the above for over 5 years. It wasn't an overnight fix it all, it took much experimentation etc, to find the right dose rate and amount for my weight. It wasn't what I took that mattered - as long as it increased my temperature etc., I gained benifit from it. It took about 3 weeks before I noticed much change - but I'm alive and kicking, so I must have done something right.
