For anyone who has followed my posts lately I was told by the PCP doctor on Wednesday that I had lost 2 pints of blood and my potassium was low. So he sent me for a second blood work up that day. Today I got a call from his office saying that all my blood work is "normal."
Here's the background.....the original blood work was done on 1/3/07. I had been to see my PCP the last week in December for an ear infection and weighed 106. Now 3 weeks later I weighed 98 pounds!! I have the been eating the same as normal. Then I have this crazy blood work come back with no explaination. Has anyone here every heard of such a thing.
Even my doctor dosen't know what to make of it.
Here's what I do know.......I'm tired all of the time......literlly moving from the couch to the bed and that's not me. So I know something is wrong!! He even gave me a B-12 shot AFTER my blood was drawn and I can't see any difference at all.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this matter? It seems crazy to me and to my doctor. Thanks in advance for helping!!;)

I guess more than just your "bladder" is broken :-)

I dont know exactly what they look for in the blood test but do you know if they checked for mono?

It is possible that they switched the blood test with someone else last time or this time. I would get another blood test to verify the results before looking for an answer yet.

This is totally random and probably won't apply to your situation, but I thought I would at least share it.

I have a disease very similar to Rheumatoid arthritis. All the drugs I take are the ones given to RA patients. But my diagnosis is slightly different.

It is an inflammatory condition, though.

The first 3 years of my disease, my symptoms were primarily fatigue and weight loss. In one year, without dieting or exercising (because I was so tired all the time), I dropped over 30 lbs (from 130 to 100lbs).

My blood work was all "normal" -- no massive inflammation showed in my blood work but everything was still going totally haywire in my body.

Like I said, doubtful this is your sitch, but I at least wanted to share that these symptoms can be very real but the blood tests are "normal."

Hope you get some answers soon!!

My blood tests flip flop every time. One time I'll be RF postitive with a low thyroid. Next test, RF negative and thyroid normal.

It's happened several times - apparently sometimes the labs calibrate the lab machines and can throw the results off.

I suggest getting tested again soon....

I wanted to say thank you to all who responded!! I actually wondered the same thing about the blood work....maybe they made a mistake. The only thing that makes me feel like that's not true is that I don't feel right. I'm really tired and I've lost 8 pounds in 3 weeks. I will be looking into this more on Monday and trying to get to the bottom of it. It's so frustrating to feel this way and then to not have any answers. I know most of you can relate to this. I've already been through it with my original disability(s) so I guess I should be used to it by now.
