Alrighty, its finally FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!
I actually had an interseting conversation this morning with a girl I work with. We got to talkign about drinking and how I have actually been doing really well. She chuckled because we have never really sat down and talked like we did, as we work with kids, and that's not an appropriate topic aroudn them.

Well, this morning, the early birds that join us weren't there, so we had our little conversation. Apparently her brother gets really nasty to everyone when he drinks. Her chuckling in the conversation came when I told her I got like that too. (A guy once called me Mrs Tyson for 2 months:eek: ......not very lady like I know.)

SO anyhow, I told her I wasn't sure why, but I just can't handle that first drink. Actually I think I can "handle" it, but it handles me in return and I lose control. So I have gotten to the point that I know I can't take that sip at ALL.

Anyhow, it got me thinking. What is the difference in the brain between people that can or cannot handle elements that are not naturally in the body? I know there are differences between everyone, I am just looking at a more physiological explanation.......

Oh well, more to think abotu for today, something else to reseach and learn.

Have a great day, and if someone has an answer that can cover it, by all means, do so!;)
I guess I could say I am in a BUT WHY stage today......down to the last minut detail.......now i know what a 2 yr old feels like sometimes.

Well, Kaiti, I don't know the particular biochemical things that happens in the brain. here's an analogy that works for me. If you take a cucumber (a brain) and soak it long enough in a pickling solution (alcohol); it will become a pickle (an alcoholic). Once it becomes a pickle (alky); it ain't never going to be a cucumber again.:D This explanation, simple as it is, has kept me from "experimenting". Every time I might think of doing "further research", all I have to do is look at a jar of pickles and say to myself: "Self, it ain't going to change back.:D

Hope this helps you. Have a great weekend.

Boy, I never thought about it like that....I like that analogy.......considering my mom and I make pickles when the cucumbers are ready.....although havign to add on to the analogy in my own little way.........sometimes them pickles become soggy:(

Well, didn't come out quite like I had hoped:rolleyes:
