Medical researchers don't know why the prions misshappen to cause wasting and/or decaying of the brain. From my research, I believe it could be as simple as lack of oxygen to the brain, due to injury and/or toxin - of any kind -, allowing a prion to grow and multiply. The brain - like many other parts of the body - needs much oxygen to stay healthy. Deprive these areas of oxygen - then anaerobics, part anaerobics or a "bug" that makes us ill, which has an anaerobic cell - can grow and multiply to cause wasting and decay.

In sickle-cell anaemia - 'the red cells look normal until deprived of oxygen. Re-exposure to oxygen, the cells revert to normal.'
To me, that means the sickle-cell would be abnormal in the first place to cause an illness. So re-exposure to oxygen would revert an abnormal cell back to a healthy cell.

I believe prions are NOT the initial cause of CJD and many other illnesses and conditions, but lack of oxygen could be. The areas of the body which need an almighty amount of oxygen, are also areas of the body which are prone to cancer. Again, some cancers are known to be anaerobic - or part thereof. Anaemia is one of the first signs of illness - anaemia is lack of oxygen in the blood. Gangrene also is caused by lack of circulation - as in Diabetes - therefore causing a lack of oxygen via the blood, to the area. Burns are also another area where anaerobics live on dead skin.
Virus' need a host - in some cases many - to continue to grow and cause illness. If one or more of these hosts were an anarobic or part thereof, then by increasing the oxygen content to the body 24/7, it probably would stop the virus from causing many viral and bacterial related illnesses. Many illnesses and conditions are known to have lack of oxygen in the body.

I heard a scientist say that there is 40% less oxygen in the atmosphere now than there was 100 years ago. Healthy people may find it enough - but when one gets ill from any cause, they are not able to breath enough oxygen in normally. Excercise and heat - and diet - also increases the oxygen contant to the body by way of extra breathing - but only til the respiratory system becomes normal again. By increasing the oxygen content of the body - and the brain - 24/7, by using MOT, would perhaps give better health and hope, to many people, including those with any form of CJD.
