It was all very last minute. My dr. decided that he didn't want to put it off until the 31st and had me come in the next day. I was in over night and I am now very uncomfortable. I am pretty much out of work until I think I am comfortable with my new shunt. It is programmable and set really high at the moment since I was over shunting and they want me to fill back up. At the moment I am really tired and in some pain. Luckily, hubby is off for the next few days. I will kepe you guys updated on how it is working.

Hey, Neighbor. :) If I can do something for you, let me know, okay? You still have my number? Don't hesitate to use it and just direct me. I'm just a quick sprint away. :)

Patience,
Glad to hear your shunt has been taken care of now instead of later. I can relate to the soreness/tiredness...I was like that for about 2-4 weeks after my revision last August. I tried to push myself to go out and do things too much right after surgery and it kind of made me somewhat nauseated...just take it easy and give yourself plenty of time to heal. It may be a rough recovery at first, but you will feel better eventually! Mine's a programmable too now...doctor thought the old one was overdraining, but now I know it was probably underdraining...not totally doing it's job...was an old bugger... ;) Much better now! Trust me -- you'll feel a lot better too! You are in my prayers!

I am doing ok so far. I am glad that I decided to take time out of work though. It hasn't been as easy of a recovery that I thought it would be. I am not sleeping that well because the incision site really hurts. I am still having headaches, but the nsg said that will happen until we get my pressures set right. I go back to the dr's on 1/31. I am not planning to go back to work until then.
