Yesirrreee..........another 'quiz'. A different one.The rask is to create 2 homonymns ( words that SOUND alike yet look/mean differently). Task: to take last latter of previous 'pair' & create a new set w/ that letter. For example:
night/knight & next post would use the letter't', & add time/thyme.
so for starters!
bail/bale
winnie, Why would the next start with "t"? Would it be cuz "knight" ends with "t"? Then since "thyme" ends with "e", mine should start with "e"? I don't think there's too many of homonymns, especialy in order. I thought of .... craft/kraft (kraft is a certain kind of wrapping paper.)
winnie
01-13-2007, 11:20 PM
Yes Lor....it is "cuz knight ends w/a 't'. I just picked 'bale' as a starting point.
and there are HUNDREDS of homonyms.. I will continue w/yours:)
tail/tale so for clarity..NEXT one begins w/'e' ( last letter of my last word;)

I forgot to type this... If both words that are part of the answer, start with an "e", but don't end with an "e", use the word that ends with "e" as the first response. There's not many words that start with an "e" that work here, and it would be better if we don't have the same response showing up over and over. :)
tee/tea ... as in golf/as in a drink
I was a bad girl, I think we should keep it to one answer. Also, maybe it would go smoother if we didn't to that last letter _ so next word starts with _ rule. I was doing it for awhile & noticed no one was answering till they started not following that rule. Whatchu think Michelle?
winnie
01-21-2007, 06:10 PM
What alternatives are there? How bout if we do like yer song thread Lor? And pick ONE letter to create the homonymn? That might offer more variety? ( for the time being I will go with the last letter til Michelle..Bon & others chime in:))

01-21-2007, 06:58 PM
Winnie,
I chimed in about it when I pm'd you Friday night. ;) I didn't know you had responded on here after lor, so I just pm'd you again, lol! The only reason I typed what I did earlier, was because you hadn't changed the rule of the thread yet. :p
When we were talking about this on chat the other night, before you started the thread, we just typed anything that popped into our minds, not in alphabetical order. Made it easier to come up w/responses that way, and we weren't constantly typing the same thing over and over.
winnie
01-21-2007, 07:03 PM

winnie, I was once told you can use proper names, cuz I then used "Candie" my dog. Now ppl might do that but to keep it fun & make it logical, I sugest not going overboard with weird names. I have been thinking of 2 but have been reluctant to use them simply because they are proper names, but here goes...
Rose/rose & Flowers/flowers ..... a girl down the street that I went to school with (1st & last names)/plants you find in a flower bed

(When I was young my mom worked at Sears & at lunch time we would walk from school to her house at lunch. I don't have a good memory but it's hard to forget that name.)
