and they discovered in mmy bloodwork that morning that my B12 was low, I'mm anemic, and my potassiam is low. This is the first time that anything like this has showed up,, that I'm aware of. I should note that I have interstitial cystitis(bladder disorder),, FMS and other problems. What should I do? I truly don't know where to go from here. My urologist who saw the results of the bloodwork told me to go to my PCP and talk to him. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I suddenly feel scared.:(
I should let you know that all of this showed up on a CBC bloodwork. Also my bladder condition, as well as the FMS, is autoimmune related. Thanks for any help or advice.
Maybe now I know why I can't seem to get anything done and always feel like a mack truck just ran me over.

I suggest you check out the Gluten File regarding both B12 and gluten sensitivity. Also check out my bare bones website for a brief and important background to help you understand the B12 info. You must know it, because chances are your doctor will be clueless.

Good luck!

I had issues with low potassiam while in the hospital after brain surgery. My doc says that it happens to alot of people that have had "Trauma" to their systems. I to felt like a truck had hit me, and most days like it backed up to get a second shot at me! I was put on potassiam supplements and within just a few days felt MUCH better! I know that B12 has alot of symptoms as well, but I would also discuss with your Doc about a potassiam supplement.

Thanks so much for all of the replies!! I'm really concerned that my PCP won't take this seriously and I'm wondering where you go to get the stuff for the B-12 shots. I plan on making an appointment with him next week, but everything I've read pretty much says that doctors don't know how to treat it. Does anyone know anything else I should try?
I should note that with my bladder condition I can't take vitamins because they are processed through the bladder and I already have bleeding ulcers in there. So I'm thinking the shots are the only way for me to go.
Thanks again for all of the information!!!!!!

If your Doctor doesn't appreciate the potential consider adding a Naturopathic Physician to your care. They are only licensed in 14 states so you may not have one where you live.

There is not problem supplementing B12 orally. Both Natural Factors and Jarrow Formulas make excellent "methyl" form B12 supplements. There have been no studies I can find that say B12 supplementation is dangerous. I am currently taking 15mg per day 3x 5mg Jarrow Brand and I feel better, no side effects at all.
