they're both gonna DIE!!!!!!!
This may sound extreme to some of you parents, but I cannot stand to drive during high-traffic times. A weekend is always high-traffic time, of course, and since most RIers drive like 96 yos or drunks, I make a point of driving only during certain times, when there is little traffic volume.
Caren made plans to go to a movie, and she told me she had a ride. Then she called me from a friend's house and said she needed a ride and money!! The sun was very low in the sky and blinding me all the way to the &#@%$*& theater. By the time I got home, I wanted to kill them both--her for insisting she HAD to go RIGHT NOW, and him for putting me in that position with no warning at all. I let her know that from now on, she will either have a backup plan IN ADDITION TO any agreement she has with him for a ride, in case he goes off on another 3-hour bike ride, or she doesn't get to go, so that this sh!t is not plopped into my lap again.
LIZARD, highly pi$$ed off

Okay, I'm cooled off now, but OMG...I wanted to kill them both for pulling that crap! :o I hate driving at high-traffic times, especially around here, because they all drive like maniacs. Add to that how low the sun was, and I couldn't see jack. UGH!!!
I ranted about it to hubby when he got home, and would you believe he had no clue that it would pi$$ me off??!! They're both alive, but I set 'em straight.
ME, chilled out now, for the moment :)

I don't drive, but I do know how you feel because my night vision isn't all
that great. Even if I had a license, I wouldn't drive after sunset. JMO
As for being clueless, I get that look from my parents, too. I'm glad you
were able to straighten both of them out!;) :)

Must be inconsiderate husband night. Hubby and I had a great date night last night, great day and then he went to work. I was going to take the kiddos to my in-laws (yes, sounds nuts, but I am tired of MIL calling all the time) to get a pumpkin and he left me with a flat tire and took my air compressor, and no key to the pickup. I called him, gave him my 2 cents plus tax and hung up. He just called back to apologize.
I hope they learned their lesson!

Must be a HUSBAND thing...My husband has 2 modes.... he is either in Prince mode or Toad Mode. Most of the time, since we moved here and he is less stressed, he is in Prince mode, but the TOAD in him still pops out occasionally. Maybe what these guys need is a "toadectomy"!

I had to laugh when you said RI drivers are either drunk or 90 YO. Its true! We go down there quite a bit, latley to the waterfire and I have a site there I am working on. I thought "m*******s were bad" but man nothing like there. But I do remember the road trip to Baltimore, I was cruising 80 from pike to thruway to NJ turnpike, then Wham, Delaware drivers rival RI drivers. Sorry to offend anyone. So was it draw and quarter or burn at stake?? Ha Ha...

Sorry for the late post, haven't been able to get online.
I feel for you. You should try to drive in FL between Oct. and May thats when there is actual 90 yr. old with oxygen and crazy 16 yr olds who someone out there said one day oh they've turned 16 lets give them keys to a rocket ship and just let them take off!
And it doesn't matter what time you go out they are all there. I used to leave for work at 3 a.m. and a bunch of kids blocked off a major road here for street racing. At the same time a couple miles down the road you can watch an older person taking a DUI test because someone forgot to tell them that "happy hour" ended a long time ago.
Just wanted to let you know your not alone when it comes to driving at certain times. As for me thank god I have Xanax!
