My mother was using her hairdryer and managed to blow the circuit to the
bedrooms. Naturally, it was all my fault, because I didn't turn the heater
off in my room before she turned the hair dryer on.
Anyway, the breaker was reset and I had to restart the computer. When
it came back on, the address bar was missing. In other words, when you
come to BrainTalk, there's a box/bar at the top of the screen that tells you
the address of the site. Right now, that box isn't showing up on my PC.
I have no idea why it's gone or how to get it back.
I'm running Windows XP and Internet Explorer.
Thanks in advance.:)

Hi Gina,
If you right-click on a blank part of the menu bar at the top or one of the other toolbars you'll get a popup where you can click on the Address bar selection to have it come back up.
Thanks

I clicked on a blank part of the menu bar and this is what I saw:
Standard Buttons
Address Bar
Links
Lock the Toolbars
Yahoo! Toolbar
Each of these had a checkmark beside it. But I still don't see the
address bar. I've also tried clicking on Address and Links at the
top right side of the screen. I've even tried clicking on File, Edit
and View at the top of the screen and I get the same options.
The address bar might have gotten shrunk. Look for just the word "Adress" up there and drag it either to the left or down to form a new line. It can also get shrunk if you don't have the browser on full screen.

The word, Address is in the upper right hand corner, next to the word,
Links. But, I tried to drag it down and it won't move. And, the browser
has been at full screen the whole time.

Or conversely, update to Internet Explorer 7 from the Microsoft website as the address bar can't be turned off.

I just tried it, but nothing happened.
if all else fails try this registry fix to repair it:
Toolbars missing in Windows Explorer or Internet Explorer
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/ToolbarRepair.Exe
to be safe, set a restore point before applying the fix.
