I have seen some people who could not get out of bed because of pain and other problems yet they got turned down or had to jump thru hoops to prove they were disabled while others are win their claim and they spend all hunting season in the woods while working under the table just because they got a case worker who was "easy". I am starting to feel like this is just a game and they are only going to let so many thru the gate at first and the others are going to have to spend years trying to prove they have a problem. This seems like the caseworkers are the same people who taught in collage. You have some professors fair and easy and then you have some that are cruel and mean and never pass out A's no matter how smart the student is. Anyway I am just kinda piss'd off because I personally know some folks who are on disability who haven't spent one day in severe pain or lived in the hospital at least a six months to a year of their life like others have. This system is another one of our governments projects that do not threat people the same.

Brian,
It does suck,,But don't give up,,,There is going to be a few amount of people that are going to cheat the system, That is how it is..And I do not know how they were able to get it if they weren't sick..Be cause it is not a easy process. They will tear you up and you will want to give up a hundred times, But give up to what..You can't work ( I know in my case I couldn't ) So I just buckled up and didn't look at anyone case but my own..Because everyone is different..By the time I went to ALJ , It had been 3 years..This man for some reason did not want to beleive me..It took him over 6 months and he had not made a decision..So I got Congress involved..I had my answer in a week.. A big fat NO...He stated he relized I was disabled but..not enough for disablity....HUH..He is no docter,,I had 4 docters state to him I was..Anyhow..I didn't give up. I appealled..His decision,,See this is where most people start a new case no not me....I went all the way to the federal Goverment And I won...Yes, it took 2 more years and more stress..But ypu have to beleive in yourself and I knew I was unable to work..****, I couldn't even do stuff around the house without regrett...I don't know about case workers,,I never used mine...Whats the point in it,,They will call if they want you..And after I won..They did...They are useless , They was for me..The only thing that helped me was getting what I needed on documentation. Doc findings Things that are important, Not she looked good, But stuff like, Pt is still suffering after 6 visits , Inoperable aneurysm has growed, Aneurysm is pulsating on the trigemenal nerve in brain and causing extreme pain...continue plan of pain control...Ect ect...You get what I'm saying..Documentation is what is going to get you your disability..And facts of MRI , x- rays. CTA's. MRa's...Things like that.Good luck, And hopefully you don't have such I long as a wait as I did To prove you are disabled.. Cindy

I agree with Cindybear, the more documentation you can give them the better. My hubby was approved in 3 months time, granted he kept asking the lady why we were there. She would answer him, and then a few seconds later he would ask her again. She looked at me and told me I have noted his troubles with his memory. But I gave them everything I had, articles written be the doctor that performed his brain procedures, MRI reports, I flooded them with information. At the pysch review he had trouble with simple task.
People tell me how lucky we are because he was approved so quickly, but then coming here really makes me set back and think, how can we be lucky for him to be approved so quickly, it just means that his mind is in pretty bad shape to get that quick of an approval.
But please do not give in and quit, they is what they want, keep appealing and get all your paper work together, send them a novel if you must, dont give them any reason to doubt or not have the information necessary. I know of those who are social security also that make you set back and scratch your head as to how in the world did they get approved when the many people that come here and are suffering cannot. Unfortunately that is our medical system we live in and sometimes it truly sucks!
