Hi
I know there are always folks over here w/ a wealth of pc knowledge so I thought since and hour of googling didnt clarify enough for me Id ask here :)

We are getting a new pc from an inncentive program at work for our home and I was looking up its stats then googling.

Apparantly w/ cheaper pcs its important the PSU and the motherboard are compatible huh?

Well heres a link to the pc stats we chose (limited choices in stock for amt we can spend) if you wouldnt mind clicking it and letting me know what to think or look out for Id be sooo very grateful ;)

We internet, do some digital photo stuff and music listening not that you need to know all that but we arent high tech yet Im saying :O)

Thanks again for any info you can offer on this system and my concerns of it being crap LOL

Anything you can say to look out for will help Thanks!

Depending on how much you are paying for it, here's my opinion.

Compared to a top of the line, bestest that that you can hope to get for any amount of money.........

1.8ghz is a pretty fast one. Not the fastest, but fast enough to work with digital photos and watch DVDs if you want. (no DVD drive in it though)

It's definately lacking in RAM. With only 256mb provided, upgradable to 512mb, it will be slow loading programs. RAM is like how much stuff can you remember in your head without having to write it down(the hard drive). The more RAM, the less reading and writing to and from the hard drive.

It's got 6 USB2 ports to plug in all kinds of things into it.

I always did like Lexmark printers. All cartridges are expensive but Lexmark are extremely easy to refill.

A CD burner is all it comes with, no DVD burner or combo burner.(does both on one burner) You can play music on it and make discs.

So... other than being short on RAM and no DVD drive, it's not too bad of a computer depending on how much the price is.

RowBoat,
I agree with Matt A.
Upgrade the RAM to 512 (probably less than $75 for the chip) it will be well worth it for speed of processing/loading.
I recently bought the same printer. (bottom of the Lexmark line $29.95 w/color cart- no B&W cart- uses both - in the box @ Wal Mart on sale) .
I find the color cart is dying out, or something, the software shows ink levels. My color cart shows 1/2 full but won't print anything but light purple and no black at all. I have to go to 'properties' and click 'print in B&W' to get it to print, when there is a color in an email. No amount of tweaking or re-aligning helps. I'll buy another & change color carts (for the first time) to see if it still does it. I've changed B&W carts once-no problem.
