Yesterday, I started having errors on My MSN page. Out of nowhere, I'd
get error messages that "there is a problem with a script on this page. Do
you want to continue running this script?" The next thing I know, there are
parts of My MSN page missing. and these tags <> are all over the page.

Now, I'm getting this message:

Server Error in '/' Application.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Runtime Error
Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
<system.web>
<customErrors mode="Off"/>
</system.web>
</configuration>

Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
<system.web>
<customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/>
</system.web>
</configuration>

What does all this double-talk mean? I set this page up the way I wanted
it years ago and haven't had a problem until yesterday. I'm not a computer
geek and I have no idea what's going on or how to fix it.

Thanks for letting me blow off some steam.

This isn't anything you did :) Someone over at MSN screwed up a bit of code before going home.

Sooner or later they'll fix it.

I just got a variation of this message:

there is a problem with a script on this page. If it continues to run, it will
slow your computer down. (Or words to that effect).

Is this the same problem as before, or is it something else? And, why would
it slow the computer down?:confused:

Probably another code error. They say it may slow your computer down because the code isn't finishing properly and may not be releasing the resources it uses to run the code.

Nothing to worry about if it only happens on msn.
