Hi everyone my name is Valerie and I am writing about my husband Joey. Back in Sept, he woke up with right eye bothering him within a few days the right side of his head went numb. We went to the ER because we were told that they needed to out rule a stroke. Cat scan didnt show anything. Well our regular doctor then sent us to a Neurologist, he has had an MRI done which came back abnormal....the impression on the reports says this......

The flow voids of the vertebral atery appear more conspicuous on the left, compared to the right. Post contrast contrast there was parenchymal, vascular, cisternal enhancement or leisonal enhancement. It shows evidence of mulitple areas of subcentineter T2 signal intensity changes whice are predominanly in the cortical/subcortical junction with extension to the cortex. On closer scrutiny, the corpus callosum appears to be spared. The etiology of these lesions is unclear. the lesions are not enhancing on cntrast. the possibibilites include vasculatides, lyme or somplicated migraine. The possiblity of a demyelinating disorder such as mulitple sclerosis cannot be excluded altogether, although the features are not very typical for it.

He has had a lumbar....that came back normal and they outruled Lyme.

Blood work showed definecy of the Vitiamin B.

His head is still numb, seems to have memory lose, confusion, muscles aches, doesnt do well in the heat anymore....(seems to intensify his symptoms) certain materials seem to bother his legs. (cant seem to sleep with the blanket we have always used anymore) feel better when he has cold air blowing on his legs......

any of these symptoms mean anything to anyone? Getting very frustrated waiting for a diagnosis.

As far as possibilities go, some are listed in the MRI report. I believe that vasculatides is a misspelling of vasculitides, which is the plural of vasculitis (inflammation of the blood vessels.) Otherwise, they list lyme disease and migraine-related illness, and less likely, MS. Vasculitis can be the result of an auto-immune illness. Whatever the cause is, the symptoms other than in the head should be explained by it.

I just want to say that ruling out Lyme disease is easier said than actually done, and people have had extensive testing which "ruled out" Lyme only to find years later they actually do have Lyme's. Diagnosis of it apparently is extremely elusive.

Yes, the neurologist put him on Foltx. He has been on this for about a month. Its so frustrating, waiting and wondering what is wrong with him. We have been going thru this since the end of August and I know it takes time but I get scared because I do not want more damage being done to him while waiting. Thanks everyone for responding.
