Interesting blog on the importance of improving your omega 3 intake to reduce risk of heart attack.

Bear in mind with regard to the so called heart healthy spreads that they still contain a certain amount of transfat indeed the so called transfat free Omega 3 Plus contains an amount of trans fat equal to it's much advertised omega 3 content.

Plant derived omega 3 are not converted to long chain omega 3 very well and will inevitably be prevented from entering tissue cells by the omega 6 from the spread.

Scientist, Bill Lands, PhD, cuts to the chase, and provides compelling reasons Americans need to re-think what constitutes a healthy diet. His engaging presentation was delivered at the National Institute's of Health two-day conference on omega-3 fats on October 14, 2009. What follows is a 37-minute video of his talk, slides, handouts and resource materials.
