So glad this forum is up again!!! I was suffering from major withdrawals. How long has it been?
Hope it's the right time for a roll call.
I am doing great... Well, I guess you know me better than that. I am sweating out a breast biopsy. But I am very sure it's nothing
Have a great day!

Coleen,
Im sorry to hear you are awaiting the results of a breast biopsy, I pray it is nothing serious, we've got a full plate with RSD... we dont need other problems, I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers ((virtual hugs))

Colleen: I hope your biopsy turns out to be nothing. You have certainly had your share of problems. There should be a limit on how much we have to deal with in life. If life were fair, only the bad guys would get sick and the good guys (meaning all of us) would have nothing but happy days because we deserve it. :D

Hi everyone,
Hope that everyone finfs there was back to the forums. This is such a great place.
Right now, I am trying to figure out what to do next - the last 2 nerve blocks I had for my RSD did not work more than a few days. But that was last year. I've tried to stay away to see if that help future blocks work better.
They changed my Neurontin to Lyrica- but the dosage was so high that I was looped- couldn't talk or ready anything - found out that had to order the 200mg in order to have it covered by my presciption drug plan. So I went from 800MG Neurontin to 200mg Lyrica. So right now I am taking them only at night and taking the Neurontim during the day.
My hubby is on Lyrica 75mg for his diabetic neuropathy. I don't know what the normal dosage on this depending what it is treating RSD versus Diabetic Neuropathy
But the burning pain and espically the "electric jolts" we all know so well are getting more often. In addition, I am using the lidoderm patches- but even then, the pain seems to go somewhere else in my arm than where the patches are !
Well what else is happening in my world?. I had my right knee replaced the end of July and every thing is going well- except when I fell on my knee- just causing more burning but the ortho doc says it is fine. The problem is the other knee- it is already causing pain and after a cortisone injection the pain decreased BUT we were given tickets to a hockey game and the seats were up 6 or 8 steps. Going up wasn't too bad but coming down caused a weird pain in the unoperated knee- like crunching and something tearing.
My knees show up as almost "normal" on a x-ray but the right one was bone on bone when he got there. Now the other knee is causing me problems- The physical therapist who came to our home told me not to wait too long to get surgery on the second one since the 1st one was so bad- if I wait I coluld cause tendon damage and muscle wasting. The ortho doc agrees that the left one will probably be just as bad as the right. Should I have surgery?
It took a little more than a month for my knee to stop hurting and really get good results with the PT. We have about 2 months until December 27th - the day we leave for Hawaii!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I quess you can look at it both way- if I have the surgery- is there a chance that I won't be recovered by our day to leave or if I put the surgery off - will I be able to walk around the islands?? (Last year I limped around Hawaii due the pain in my right knee-been there done that)
So we'll see what happens in the next few days- I can't wait much longer to decide to have the surrgery.
Take care everyone- hoping for less pain for all.
Leslie

I'm back. I'm battling other problems besides the RSD (which is actually behaving itself) so I'm kind of on and off right now.
Coleen, I hope and pray your breast biopsy is negative. Please let us know.
Leslie, sorry to hear about your knee problems. From what I know of Lyrica, your 200 mg is a pretty good dose. I might be mistaken, but 75 mg 3 times per day (225mg) is at the top of the dosing amount typically used for nerve pain. But RSD is a whole other animal, so who knows what is really needed to tame it.
Best wishes to all.
Julie
