I called my bank yesterday to see if I was overdrawn with my checking account, and the lady was like, "Well, should you be overdrawn? Your balance is $XX,459." And I was like..."No, that's not my account, you must be looking at the wrong one."
Then she said that I had a deposit from SSA yesterday morning for $XX,000. Yaaa!!! I was told that it would be probably the end of the month before I saw the rest of my back pay, but obviously they got my stuff done faster than they thought it would be. The XX's are because I'm really leary about posting an actual amount on the internet, but you get the idea.
Although I've already spent more than half of it on bills, it is so nice to finally be able to pay off the creditors that keep calling. There are things that I need to get for my daughter, but I just didn't have the money, so it's an awesome feeling now that I can do what I need to, like buy her a new winter coat and a bed since hers is broke.
I thought that I would never win my case the way it was going, and I almost gave up, but now I am so very glad that I stuck with it, and didn't.
I wish you all the best of luck with your SSA, and I hope that you get approved and can have the same feeling that I'm having right now. And hopefully for you it won't take three and half years like it did me. Even if it does take a long time, don't give up. It can happen.
