So, I have considerable "Middle-Aged Madwoman Syndrome" and went the gyn to get the results of my bloodwork. Duh. I have been ON FIRE ever since I started Keppra, but my thyroid calmed back down, so I suspected...especially after a (*guys can ignore*) 8-DAY PERIOD last month, a whole week early.

We did discuss "waiting it out," but honestly, all the sleep I have lost from night sweats means it wouldn't be worth it. I also know HRT can aggravate szs, so...we'll see. Now that I have complete control, I'm really afraid of screwing that up. <sigh>

Here goes nuthin'.......  :o

Lovely Liz,
I can't exactly understand all that you are saying above, but I know some about "Middle Age Madwoman Syndrome", thyroid problems, and screwed up menses - mine seem to arrive every 3 weeks, about a week short.
I hope that the Keppra is not the culprit, it seems to work for you otherwise.
Know that you have my support, and at least partial understanding ;-]
Hugs,
Lily

Thanks, Lily. :)

It's not the Keppra this time. I was actually dx'ed perimeno 2 years ago, and well...it woke up. I have LOTS of hot flashes and night sweats, my memory is worse than usual, and my moods...we won't even go there. :( I can't survive this insanity without HRT, but I know it can aggravate my epi, too. :( It's scaring the holy hell outta me...:( I waited nearly 43 years for complete sz control, and now that I have it, HRT might screw it up. Sssiiiggghhh....:( :o

LIZARD, sick of bein' a lab rat :(

The good news is women survive this period though I don't know the statistics of survival for the spouses. I can tell you from experience that it does pass and you once again feel normal. Karen

If it's any consolation Lizard, my mum went through a NIGHTMARE with menopause (as did the rest of us :D:p!) and HRT really helped her. So, things can only get better!

No, she doesn't Lizard, but I don't know of HRT affecting any treatments for epilepsy. Hoping I'm right !

It's in the lit, unfortunately. Watching and waiting...I FINALLY have 100% control, and I really don't wanna screw it up!

LIZARD, in Day #3...
